Virtually experience the magical world of brook trout in the Wild Watersheds Hallway at the Virginia Museum of Natural History (www.vmnh.net). DRBA’s
Trout in the Classroom has been making a positive impact since 2008. During the program, students raise trout from eggs to fingerlings in their classrooms (or at the museum). Once the trout reach fingerling size, students travel to a river to release the young trout into their natural habitat, which creates a very special connection for these young people to their environment. Streamside presentations and other activities at the trout release make this a powerful program that students (and educators!) will never forget. This live stream is made possible by the
Dan River Basin Association through a grant from the
Community Foundation of the Dan River Region.
