The Community Awareness Network (C.A.N.) is a major community-driven project that has been quietly built over the past several years with one purpose in mind: to support the people of War, West Virginia, while encouraging new interest, visitors, and opportunity in a town rich with heritage, history, and resilience.
War has faced decades of economic hardship, yet its story deserves more than to fade into memory. C.A.N. was created to help preserve that story, strengthen community connections, and spark the slow rebuilding of a devastated economic area—so the past, present, and future of War, WV continue forward.
