Top Three Most Impressive Roofs In The World!

When it comes to roofs, most are fairly standard and similar to one another. While there ones which we provide atbscwindows.comare among the best, there are still few variations between most modern roofs. However, there are a few examples from around the globe that are truly world famous.
On the whole, most roofing solutions are fairly similar to one another and are, as a result, remarkably unimpressive. While a well made asphalt, metal, or tile roof can still look impressive and can serve to complement the rest of your property’s design, even the best of these are unlikely to turn any heads or be memorable. Typically speaking, a roof’s role is primarily to be functional and waterproof; the design of the roof is usually little more than a mere afterthought. However, this is not the case in every scenario. In fact, a few specially built buildings from around the world feature roofs which are more than just a block between the internal and external world; they are the primary feature piece of the construction.

So, where are these remarkable roofs found, and what is it that makes them so famous worldwide? We’ve listed the three most incredible roofs in the world, and though these are all incredibly different to one another, there is no denying that each is incredible and special in its own way!
Sydney Opera House, Sydney, Australia
Whenever anyone thinks of the Sydney Opera House, its remarkable curvaceous roofing solution instantly comes to mind. It comes as no surprise to learn that this unique construction took a whopping 14 years to complete and at a budget of a phenomenal $102 million Australian dollars! In fact, its incredible concrete sails have made it one of the most famous buildings erected in the 20th century.
Taj Mahal, Agra, India
As with the Sydney Opera House, almost everybody can picture the iconic design and structure of the Taj Mahal. The most notable and famous feature of the Taj Mahal is its perfectly engineered marble dome, which would still be impressive if it was constructed today—but the fact that this incredible building was first commissioned for creation in 1632 really makes it one of the most revolutionary constructions of its era. As if the dome itself wasn’t already a feat, the fact that it is topped with an intricately crafted lotus makes this roof all the more astounding.
St. Basil’s Cathedral, Moscow, Russia
The Taj Mahal may be an impressive construction, its plain marble color scheme cannot compare to the extravagance of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Russia. Built at around the same time—again in the 17th century—this astounding Russian cathedral is an assault on the senses to look at; a burst of color in an otherwise plain city. The domes on this cathedral may not compare in size to the ones seen on the Taj Mahal, but their perfectly crafted design and color scheme means that  it is equally as impressive.
